Description

A one pan lemon parm chicken gnocchi dish is a flavorful, one-pan dinner featuring tender, seared chicken, soft potato gnocchi, and a luxuriously creamy lemon parmesan sauce that makes weeknight dinners both simple and gourmet.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or chicken tenders)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Zest and juice of 1 large lemon
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 (17‑ounce) package potato gnocchi
  • 2 cups fresh baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (plus extra for serving)

Instructions

  • Preheat a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Pat the chicken dry and season both sides with salt, black pepper, and lemon pepper seasoning.
  • Add olive oil and butter to the pan. Once the butter foams, sear the chicken for about 3–4 minutes per side until golden. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  • Lower the heat to medium; add minced garlic to the pan and sauté for 30 seconds. Deglaze the pan with lemon juice and chicken broth, scraping up the browned bits.
  • Stir in heavy cream and red pepper flakes (if using), allowing the sauce to simmer for 1–2 minutes. Add the uncooked gnocchi into the simmering sauce, then return the chicken to the pan. Simmer for about 6–8 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and the gnocchi are tender.
  • Just before serving, stir in fresh baby spinach and grated Parmesan cheese until the spinach wilts and the sauce becomes creamy. Adjust seasoning if needed, then plate and garnish with extra Parmesan and lemon zest.

Notes

Adjust the cream to broth ratio for a lighter or richer sauce. You can also experiment with additional herbs like basil or thyme, and use chicken tenders for quicker cooking. Monitor the gnocchi closely to prevent overcooking.
